When asked about his feelings of making the play-offs in his first year as Head Coach of the Indians, Coach Mark Schilb said he is “very excited, just elated.”
Schilb went on to say he thought that the during second half of the season the team “came together a lot more.”
“We played some great teams,” Schilb said of those teams faced by the Indians during the season.
Schilb went on to express that during the second half of the season, the team did better with not having as many plays where they were beating themselves. “Our senior leadership stepped up. Our coaching staff just really settled into our role and it’s fun.”
“You just worry about the things we can control,” Schilb said about the excitement he and the team is experiencing on the opportunity to play on Wednesday.
“We haven’t given up very many big plays. Coach Doud, Coach Sterner and Coach Reed are doing a great job with the Defense. I feel like tonight that was Defense and Special Teams. We had some big plays on O, and once we get the lead I play pretty conservative I don’t want to give them anything,” Schilb said about the aggressive defensive play by the Indians on Friday night.
