Heather Renee Rohr Charged With First Degree Robbery At Medicap
Heather Renee Rohr, of 707 5th Ave East in Oskaloosa, was arraigned in Mahaska County court today on a charge of First Degree Robbery. First Degree Robbery is a Class B Felony that carries with it a 25 year maximum sentence. This is also a forcible felony and if convicted, Rohr would not be eligible for parole. She is currently being held on $50,000 cash bond for this offense. This charge stems from the attempted robbery that took place at 1:03 p.m. on the 20th of April, 2011.
Rohr has also been charged with Prescription Fraud. Prescription Fraud is a Class C Felony that carries with it a maximum of 10 years and up to a $10,000 fine. This charge stems from the incident at Mahaska Drug where a forged or altered prescription was passed, allegedly. No additional bond was set on this charge.
Rohr’s original charge on Thursday is in connection with fraud, that allegedly happened at Mahaska Drug that is also located in Oskaloosa. Rohr was charged with Fraud, a Class D felony that carries a maximum of 5 years in prison with a fine not to exceed $7,500. Her bond was set at $10,000 cash bond for this charge.
The following affidavit was filed for the Fraud Charge on Thursday, April 21st, 2011:
According to an affidavit, the Oskaloosa Police Department was dispatched to Mahaska Drug in regards to a forged or altered prescription.
The employees of Mahaska Drug advised that persons in a green Buick bearing Kansas plates had dropped off a prescription that had been altered or forged. The employee advised that the prescription was a photo copy and not on the “Tamper Proof” prescription paper.
In closer examination, the date and the registration number appeared to have been changed. The employee called the doctor on the prescription to check on it, and the doctor advised that he did not issue and did not authorize the prescription.
Rohr was identified as the passenger of the vehicle bearing the Kansas plates. Rohr advised that she knew what was going on with the prescription. Rohr had a partial envelope in her back pocket that had the altered registration number on it.
A search warrant was later conducted on the residence and officers located strips of paper which appeared to be placed on the original prescription to allow the altercations to be made.
A criminal charge is merely a criminal charge and not an indication of guilt. All suspects should be considered innocent until proven guilty.
