#7 Story of the 2014-2015 Year
The navy and gold football crew will get its day in the national spotlight at least twice this fall as a television agreement grabs the #7 story from the 2014-2015 year.
The Heart of America Athletic Conference and Niles Media Group have worked up a contract to televise at least one league game per week this autumn. WPU will be on KMSO in the Kansas City area, on Mediacom and MCG back here in Iowa and throughout the Midwest, and on ESPN3 (internet) for its road game at Peru State on October 17 and its home contest versus Benedictine (Kan.) on October 31.
If the program is in contention for a playoff berth, it may also be on TV on November 14 as that weekend has been reserved for games with postseason implications.

#7 Performance of the 2014-2015 Year
Jacob Logan’s rubber arm vaulted him to #7 on the 2014-2015 performance list.
The senior pitcher nearly single-handedly kept the Statesmen baseball team alive in the Midwest Collegiate Conference Tournament. After going eight innings versus AIB on the opening day of the tourney (Saturday), he was thrust into another start less than 48 hours later.
In what Head Coach Mike Laird later referred to as the gutsiest performance he had seen all year, Logan went 7 2/3 additional frames on Monday against AIB. He struck out seven with only one walk and sat down eight straight batters at one juncture.
