WPU Totals 47 Heart Scholar-Athletes

Oskaloosa–The Heart of America Athletic Conference honored its top academic achievers as its 2018-2019 Scholar-Athletes were announced Monday.

William Penn recorded 47 award recipients over 24 conference-sponsored sports, led by eight honorees from the women’s volleyball program. A total of 813 student-athletes were honored from the 13 reporting schools, including a number of student-athletes receiving academic honors in multiple sports.

In order to be eligible for Scholar-Athlete recognition, student-athletes must have earned a 3.40 grade point average (on a 4.0 scale), have accumulated a minimum of 60 semester hours (at least five semesters), and attended the nominating institution for at least two semesters prior to being nominated, as well as be a varsity participant on their respective team.
