WPU Returns to Ranking at #26

Oskaloosa–The Statesmen women’s golf team’s run of high finishes has gotten the attention of the national raters as the NAIA released its first top-25 poll Friday.

The Statesmen are unofficially tied for 26th with 89 points. The navy and gold have posted two tournament wins, a runner-up finish, and a third-place effort so far this fall.

WPU is joined by Central Methodist (T-36th) as representatives from the Heart of America Athletic Conference in the poll.

Oklahoma City, with 13 first-place votes and 494 points, is the new #1. Dalton State (Ga.) is second with four first-place votes, while Texas Wesleyan, SCAD Savannah (Ga.) (final first-place nod), and former #1 Keiser (Fla.) round out the top five.

William Penn will conclude its fall campaign on October 19-20 at the Baker Match Play. Action will be contested at Prairie Highlands Golf Course in Olathe, Kan.
