WPU Moves to #2 in Fourth Rating
Oskaloosa–The Statesmen men’s basketball team has earned a nice bump as the NAIA released its fourth top-25 poll Wednesday.
WPU (14-1, 6-1 Heart) has jumped three spots to #2 with 553 points. It is the 56th-consecutive time the navy and gold have been in the top 25 and the 13th-straight time they have been in the top five. It is also the program’s highest ranking of the season.
William Penn is one of two representatives from the Heart of America Athletic Conference in the ranking. Central Methodist has fallen into the receiving votes grouping with an unofficial ranking of #28.
Loyola (La.) continues to be the unanimous #1 with 591 points and all 21 first-place votes. The remainder of the top five includes Talladega (Ala.), William Jessup (Calif.), and Oklahoma Wesleyan.
The Statesmen travel to Dubuque Wednesday to face Clarke in Heart play at 7:30 p.m.
