Oskaloosa–William Penn Director of Lacrosse Luke Christiansen is excited to announce the women’s lacrosse program’s inaugural recruiting class.

William Penn has inked a total of 19 players from 14 states and two countries. The class is thought to be the second-largest inaugural group in NAIA women’s lacrosse history and also eclipses the average size of Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference rosters from this past spring (15.7).

“It was a lot of fun to see this recruiting class come together,” Christiansen said. “We intentionally recruited athleticism and versatility to provide us with a high ceiling. With (Associate Head) Coach (Corrine) Smeak’s track record of player development and our second-to-none strength program, this group has a very bright future.”

“I am excited for this group of ladies to arrive on campus this fall,” Smeak said. “This team may be young, but has tremendous potential to be successful with character and leadership already showing. There is an exciting energy being brought to William Penn with a new program; everyone has the goal to build a top-flight program.”
