WPU #23 in Third NAIA Rating
Oskaloosa–The William Penn women’s golf team has yet to play a competitive round this spring, but found itself actually moving up a rung as the NAIA’s third top-25 poll was released Friday.
The Statesmen advanced one position from last November’s poll, now sitting in 23rd with 139 points. The squad, which is coming off a successful fall in which it claimed four tournament wins, is the lone representative from the Heart of America Athletic Conference in the ranking.
SCAD Savannah (Ga.) remains #1 with 498 points and all 18 first-place votes, while Keiser (Fla.), Oklahoma City, Dalton State (Ga.), and South Carolina Beaufort round out the top five.
WPU begins its spring slate next Friday by co-hosting the Icebreaker Collegiate Open at Otter Creek Golf Course in Ankeny.
