William Penn Swept by Grand View

Des Moines, Iowa—William Penn women’s volleyball hit the road for the final time in the regular season as they traveled to Des Moines to take on #11 Grand View.

Unfortunately, The Statesmen (11-19, 6-11 Heart) fell to the Vikings (23-9, 15-1 Heart) in straight sets by the scores of 25-12, 25-19, 25-11.

The navy and gold had a hard time mustering any sort of offense as they were outhit by Grand View .281-.050.

Danielle Pendzinski (Sr., Winnebago, Ill., Elementary Education) led her squad in the kill department finishing with nine while hitting at a team-high .294 clip. Libby Zorn (Jr., Billings, Mont., History) also had a nice outing collecting eight kills at a .217 clip.

Sydney Roush (Jr., Osceola, Wis., Sports Management) and Macy Bailey (Fr., Bondurant, Iowa, Business Management) shared setting duties in the match and combined for 24 assists, finishing with 14 and 10 respectively.

Defensively, Cameryn Campbell (Jr., Jefferson City, Mo., Education) produced 12 digs in the setback.

Next Up: The Statesmen will finish up the regular season with a matchup against Mount Mercy on Tuesday, Oct. 29, in the Penn Activity Center, celebrating senior night.
