William Penn Sixth in Postseason Poll
Oskaloosa–Courtesy of its deep run at nationals, the Statesmen men’s basketball team moved up three spots as the NAIA released its Division I postseason rating Wednesday.
William Penn (29-7, 17-5 Heart), which advanced to the national quarterfinals, ended the year at #6 with 176 points. MidAmerica Nazarene (Kan.) finished at #4, while Peru State (Neb.) also represented the Heart of America Athletic Conference at #21.
National champion Mid-America Christian (Okla.), which defeated Georgetown (Ky.) 100-99 in overtime of the D-I title game, jumped from #14 to #1 (all nine first-place votes). Georgetown, LSU Alexandria, MNU, and Biola (Calif.) round out the top five.
