William Penn Finishes in Top 20 in Largest Field of Season

Addison, Ill.–The Statesmen men’s bowling team did not compete at its highest level, but still managed to place high as it battled at the Kegel/ISBPA Midwest Collegiate Classic Saturday and Sunday.
WPU took 18th out of 70 teams with 8,596 pins in five regular games and 20 Baker rounds. McKendree (Ill.) won the team title with 9,451 pins.
Bryan Bourget of Robert Morris (Ill.) took the individual crown (out of 476 bowlers) with a 240.8 average.
Rok Kostric (So., Koper, Slovenia, Sports Management) guided the navy and gold by placing 25th with a 208.8 clip. Curtis Majka (Sr., Elgin, Ill., Mechanical Engineering) was next at 200.4, while Nick Walker (Sr., Zeeland, Mich., Business Management), at 192.4, and Aleksander Kostric (So., Koper, Slovenia, Sports Management), at 181.8, also started all five games.
Logan Mason (Sr., Knoxville, Iowa, Business Management) rolled in three rounds with a 186.3 mark, while Josh Fane (Jr., Brownsville, Wis., Business Management and Accounting) averaged 189.0 pins in two rounds.
Next Up: William Penn takes two weeks off before traveling to Fairview Heights, Ill. on Feb. 2-3 to compete in the McKendree Baker Challenge.
