William Penn Fall Jazz and Choir Concert‏

The William Penn University Singers and Jazz Ensemble will present a Fall Concert, Tuesday and Wednesday, November 15 and 16, at the McGrew Fine Arts Center, 7:30 p.m. The program includes music styles ranging from Big Band Swing to Funk.

Directed by Anita Meinert, the chorale ensemble will perform “Hold Steady with the Gate”, “Search me, O God”, “Gaudete”, “Et In Terra Pax” and an arrangement of the Leroy Anderson classic, “Bugler’s Holiday”.

Jazz Ensemble selections include “Muddy Road”, “Superstition”, “Northern Encounter”, “My Buddy”, “Blues Dance”, and “Till This Day”. Junior vocalist Chris Meinert of Oskaloosa will join the band on the Frank Sinatra hit, “Day In, Day Out”. Scott Cressley, Director of Instrumental Music, comments, “We are performing a exciting variety of music that I am sure the audience will enjoy”.

The ensembles will combine forces to perform a favorite from the movie, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, called “The Time Warp”.
