Bixler, Burnett Take Home Scholar-Athlete Honors
Oskaloosa—Katie Burnett (Sr., Mesa, Ariz., Desert Ridge HS) and Jessica Bixler (Sr., Oskaloosa, Oskaloosa HS) were honored for their excellence in the classroom as they were named 2010 Daktronics-NAIA Women’s Cross Country Scholar-Athletes.
Burnett owns a 3.73 Grade Point Average in chemistry/biology, while Bixler owns a 3.52 mark in biology.
The NAIA announced that 305 women’s cross country runners were awarded the laurel.
To be eligible for the award, athletes must be of at least junior academic standing, maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or above on a 4.0 scale, and have attended the nominating institution for at least one full academic year.
Letzring Tabbed for Scholar-Athlete Recognition
Oskaloosa—Jordan Letzring (Jr., Alta, Alta HS) was honored for his excellence in the classroom as he was named a 2010 Daktronics-NAIA Men’s Cross Country Scholar-Athlete.
Letzring owns a 3.89 Grade Point Average in industrial technology.
The NAIA announced that 185 men’s cross country runners were awarded the laurel.
To be eligible for the award, athletes must be of at least junior academic standing, maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or above on a 4.0 scale, and have attended the nominating institution for at least one full academic year.
