Where the Rubber Meets the Road!

(Newton, Iowa –March 24, 2011) Saturday, April 16, 2011 is fast approaching as runners will descend upon in the 5th Annual Iowa Speedway 8K “Where the Rubber Meets the Road”.

“There is still plenty of time for everyone, from the beginner to follow through on that New Year’s goal to the expert who wants to beat their best time to get signed up,” stated race organizer, Melissa Butler. “Windstream Communications has also come on to help promote this year’s event.”

“Windstream is pleased to support the P.I. Foundation and the Iowa Speedway Foundation. Progress Industries provides much needed services for people with disabilities to truly accomplish their goals and dreams. The Iowa Speedway Foundation also provides generous support for many nonprofit agencies said Charles Bruggemann, Vice President in charge of Windstream operations in Iowa.

“Windstream’s support demonstrates a commitment to our community, to Progress Industries and to those we serve with special needs. A wonderful partnership has been formed and we’re so appreciative of their continued support,” says Butler.

Already registered is a group of 15 soldiers serving over in Afghanistan as part of the Iowa National Guard deployment. One of the troops is from Newton, Iowa and is running in memory of his brother who benefited greatly through services provided by Progress Industries.

The race benefits the P. I. Foundation and the Iowa Speedway Foundation. Progress Industries helps more than 300 central Iowans with disabilities realize their dreams and exercise real choices about where they work, live and recreate.
