Warren was born on June 29, 1939 in Grinnell, Iowa to Fred Lloyd Weaver, Sr. and Ida Madeline Barr. He was raised in the Chester Township north of Grinnell, where he attended country school and began his passion of playing baseball. He graduated from Grinnell High School with the class of 1957.

He was united in marriage to Rosemary Davis on November 18, 1963 at the United Methodist Church in Maryville, Missouri. The couple lived and farmed near Gilman and later moved to the Chester Township, where they raised their children and farmed. He drove a semi for Gene Campbell C&K Transfer, Haworth Trucking, and for Jeld-Wen Windows and Doors.

Warren was a lifelong baseball fan. He reminisced about playing baseball as a youngster at country school and at the Chester Church Youth Group. As an adult he enjoyed playing and coaching fast pitch. He closely followed the Chicago Cubs, Iowa Hawkeyes, and Grinnell Tigers and could recall outstanding plays that others had long forgotten. Warren enjoyed league bowling, card games, Canadian fishing trips, reunions of the GHS class of 1957 and swapping stories. He took great pride in his children and grandchildren.

Warren is survived by his wife of 47 years, Rosemary Weaver of Grinnell; 3 children: Scott and Sheila Weaver of Raleigh, NC and their children Skye, Courtney and Jerod; Angela and Scott Raue of Belle Plaine, IA; Robin and Dan Isaacson and their children, Caleb and Carson of Huxley, IA; and his siblings, Fred Weaver, Jr. of Grinnell, Dolores Harrison of Tucson, Arizona, Marilyn Merkel of Plano, TX, and Roger Weaver of Williamsburg, IA. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Garry Weaver in 2009.
