Three Receive Scholar-Athlete Awards

Oskaloosa–A trio of men’s basketball players were honored for their excellence in the classroom as they were named 2018-2019 Daktronics-NAIA Division I Scholar-Athletes Monday.

Isaac Sanders (sr., Lexington, Mo., Industrial Technology) topped the grouping with a 3.75 Grade Point Average entering this spring, while Kenneth Schell (Sr., Buena Vista, Colo., Psychology) was at 3.52 and Darius Wheeler (Sr., Jonesboro, Ga., Sports Administration) held a 3.50 mark. The laurel is the first for all three individuals.

A total of 74 Division I men’s basketball players from within the NAIA were awarded the laurel.

To be eligible for the award, athletes must be of at least junior academic standing, maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or above on a 4.0 scale, and have attended the nominating institution for at least one full academic year.
