Columbia, MO – Freshman Yutika Nuammaiphum (Krathum Baen, Thailand/Kanchanapisek Wittayalai Nakhon Pathom) led the Indian Hills Women’s Golf squad to its strongest showing of the fall campaign as the Warriors placed all three individuals in the top-15 at the Cougar Classic.
Competing in the final regular season contest of the fall season, Nuammaiphum finished in a four-way tie for first-place at the Columbia Golf & Country Club. The freshman starred once again for the Warriors, finishing with a 13-over, 157 to force a playoff. Nuammaiphum eventually fell in the extra session, but capped the fall slate with another solid effort on the course.
Nuammaiphum opened the week with a season-best 75 through 18 holes of competition, the third-lowest single round in school history, to sit atop the leaderboard heading into day two. Nuammaiphum stayed in contention throughout round two to finish in the four-way tie through 36 holes.
Sophomore Yebin Yun (Sejong, South Korea/Lakota West) added a personal-best showing for the Warriors, tying for fifth overall with a 16-over, 160. Yun climbed four spots on the final day of competition after tying a career-low round with a 78. Yun tallied three birdies throughout the 36-hole event.
Freshman Maddison Clarke (Worksop, England/North Notts College) rounded out the Warriors’ effort in a tie for 14th place overall. Clarke posted a season-best 81 in the opening round before closing out the event with an 88 to finish in a tie for 14th overall out of 41 golfers.
The Warriors will now turn their attention to the offseason before returning to competition in the spring.
