Subbert Surpasses 1,500-Point Plateau
Oskaloosa—Christa Subbert (Sr., Stanton, Stanton HS) recently became a member of a very exclusive club as she scored her 1,500th career point.
Subbert, who currently has 1,644 points for her career (16.1 avg. over 102 games), eclipsed the 1,500 mark against Peru State (Neb.) on November 4.
The senior has since reached double figures in six of her last seven games and has met the mark 81 times in her navy and gold tenure. The guard scored 399 points as a freshman, 551 as a sophomore, and 521 as a junior (173 this season).
The two-time NAIA Division II Honorable-Mention All-American currently resides in fourth on the school’s all-time scoring list and will next eye third place Becky King and her 1,992-point tally.
Due to her hot start (averaging 19.2 points through nine games), Becky Inman’s school record of 2,139 points is still within reach. With at least 22 games still left in her career, Subbert will need to average a realistic 22.5 points the remainder of the campaign to tie Inman.
Subbert leads the Midwest Collegiate Conference with her 19.2 average.
