Stratton Wins First Pitcher of the Week Award of Career

Oskaloosa–Chase Stratton (Jr., Clearfield Utah, Sports Management) posted another huge outing on the mound and was finally recognized for his work as he was named Heart of America Athletic Conference Baseball Pitcher of the Week Monday.

Stratton earned his first career award after guiding the Statesmen to a 2-0 win over Evangel. The award is the first for William Penn this spring.

The junior tossed a complete game two-hitter, only allowing one Crusader to reach second base and striking out at least one batter in each of the seven innings. He had three separate frames with at least two strikeouts, finishing with 10 in the win; Stratton walked only one batter in the win.

For the year, Stratton is 3-0 with a 1.82 Earned Run Average. He has recorded two complete games and has worked one shutout by himself and combined for another. Over the span of 29 2/3 innings, the junior has struck out 49 batters and walked just six, while permitting opposition to hit only .147 against him.
