“Story Doors” sponsored by the Oskaloosa Junior Main Street

The Oskaloosa Junior Main Street program will be sponsoring “Story Doors” art! The doors will be viewed and judged during this year’s Art on the Square, which is June 11th. The rules for the doors are as follows: each door will be an individual art project that tells of a story of a person or event that has impacted someone’s life. Doors are available for pick up at the Oskaloosa Chamber of Commerce. Completed doors should be dropped off by from 7am to 10am on the day of the event at the Square. Judging will be from 10am to 12:00pm. All doors are subject to approval from Junior Main Street. There must be a minimum of five doors for a contest. Any persons wishing to participate in the contest should contact Karen Hafner. The Oskaloosa Junior Main Street Program would like to invite the public to a special showing of historic war videos this summer. The showings will be from 6:30 to 7:30 pm at the Oskaloosa American Legion reception hall. The showings will precede the city band performances each week throughout the summer and will begin on the night of the first band concert in June. Selections from World War II with Walter Cronkite and the Color of War will be shown. Refreshments from local businesses will also be served.
