Oskaloosa–The William Penn football team remains quite visible on the NAIA radar as the Association’s spring top 25 poll was released Wednesday.

The Statesmen, who were 9-2 last fall (5-2 MWL), improved two spots from the last ranking to #13 in the NAIA with 182 points.

Defending national champion Saint Xavier (Ill.) is the spring’s #1 with 340 points and all 15 first-place votes, while Carroll (Mont.) is second. Marian (Ind.), Georgetown (Ky.), and MidAmerica Nazarene (Kan.) round out the top five.

St. Francis (Ill.) tops the Midwest League at #7, while Grand View is 16th and St. Ambrose is 20th. Olivet Nazarene (Ill.), unofficially 28th, also represents the league.

The Statesmen remain the second-highest team from the state of Iowa behind #8 Morningside.
