Statesmen Still Receiving Votes as Spring Season Begins

Oskaloosa–The William Penn men’s golf team has yet to play a competitive round this spring, but remains on the national radar as the NAIA’s fourth top-25 poll was released Friday.
WPU is unofficially down six positions since the last poll, falling into a tie for 40th with three points. The squad is still third among Heart of America Athletic Conference programs with Missouri Valley heading the way in 16th, while Mount Mercy is 25th.
Coastal Georgia is the new #1 with 495 points and 14 first-place votes, while former #1 Oklahoma City is now second with 484 points and three first-place nods. Dalton State (Ga.) is third, while Northwestern Ohio, with one first-place vote, and Texas Wesleyan round out the top five.
William Penn opens the spring Monday and Tuesday by traveling to Salina, Kan. to compete in the Kansas Wesleyan Invitational.
