Statesmen Make Giant Leap to School-Record #16
Oskaloosa–Off arguably its best run in school history, the William Penn men’s soccer team has jumped inside the top 25 as the NAIA released its fourth poll Wednesday.
WPU (8-2, 4-0 Heart) unofficially improved 28 spots from the receiving votes section to #16 with 258 points. The new ranking is the highest in program history, eclipsing the previous best of #18 from last season. The navy and gold accomplished the spot with wins over Grand View and then-#9 Baker, both on the road.
William Penn is the third-highest ranked squad in the Heart of America Athletic Conference. Central Methodist, which comes to Oskaloosa Saturday (7:30 p.m. start) is #1, while Baker is now #10 and Missouri Valley is now #18. Grand View is also receiving votes at #39 unofficially.
CMU owns 17 first-place votes, while Columbia (Mo.) is second with the final first-place nod. William Carey (Miss.), Westmont (Calif.), and Hastings (Neb.) round out the top five.
