Statesmen Close out Year at National Qualifier
Baldwin City, Kan.–The William Penn competitive dance team wrapped up its 2022 season at the NAIA Midwest Regional Friday.
WPU placed eighth out of eight teams with 44.47 points, while Baker won the crown and the automatic bid to NAIA Nationals with 92.65 points.
The Statesmen entered finals in eighth after scoring 45.00 points in their first routine. Baker held the lead all day, posting 91.03 points in the preliminary round.
Team members included Dana Barnes (So., Sun Tan Valley, Ariz.), Morgan Beener (Fr., Monroe, Iowa), Taegin Butler (Fr., Ottumwa, Iowa), Annie Gruber (So., Eagan, Minn.), and Natalie Redlinger (Fr., Sigourney, Iowa).
