Shane Paul Stephenson, 44, of Grinnell, Iowa, died on May 7, 2022. Shane was born on September 28, 1977, to Randy and Nancy Vitera Stephenson at Iowa City, Iowa.

Shane grew up in the Tri-County area. He was a 1996 graduate of Tri-County High School. He was a member of the ROTC in high school and the National Guard after high school.

After 9/11, Shane enlisted in the U.S. Army and served 18 months before he was discharged.

Shane then attended DMACC for Tool and Die training for two years and was proud to be a member of the International Honor Society.

Shane then began his Quality Control – Safety and Detail Manager position at Monte Manufacturing and later EPC in Grinnell.

On March 13, 2003, Shane was united in marriage to Pamela Hetrick and they became the parents of three daughters: Lillian, Lexis and Lyvia. They later divorced.

On June 29, 2017, Shane was united in marriage to Jamie Bunn and they became the parents of Brinley.

Shane was very talented in high school and was the high school newspaper editor and also wrote articles for the What Cheer Newspaper. He enjoyed following the Detroit Lions, loved playing basketball and baseball. Shane always had a good sense of humor, never gave up, forgave people and loved God. He always had a positive attitude and was very supportive of his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Jamie Stephenson; his daughters, Lillian, Lexis, Lyvia and Brinley Stephenson; his step-father, Robert Barnard; his siblings: Joe Stephenson, Nikki (& Nick Taylor) Stephenson, Drew Barnard, Jessica (& Jhiro Cryptor) Barnard, Jimmy (& Sara) Barnard; his nephews, Caden and Kylor; his nieces: Aubree, Jalyssa, Sadie, and Olivia Barnard; as well as many other friends and relatives.

Shane is preceded in death by his parents, Randy Stephenson and Nancy Barnard; and his grandparents, James and Joan Vitera.

Visitation will be Sunday, May 15, 2022 from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM at the Holland-Coble Funeral Home in Montezuma.
Funeral service will be on Monday, May 16, 2022 at 10:00 AM at the Holland-Coble Funeral Home in Montezuma.
