Ruth Larsen Weston 58

Ruth Larsen Weston 58, of Oskaloosa, died on December 30, 2011, at the Mahaska Health Partnership Hospice Serenity House after a long battle with cancer. She was born on October 9, 1953 in Des Moines, Iowa, the daughter of Norman and Shirley Bryan Larsen. She graduated from East High School and continued her education at DMACC. Ruth worked as a computer drafter for the state of Iowa. She always had the goal of becoming a funeral director and she realized that goal a few years ago, earning her mortuary science degree from DMACC, her illness prevented her from working.

She was an animal lover, enjoyed crafting, the arts and gardening.

Ruth will be remembered by her large family which includes: her children Kathy Caldwell of Ottumwa, James Caldwell of Richland, Jessica Elder of Martinsburg and Jennifer Weston of Sierra Vista, Az.; seven grandchildren: Josh, Katie, Riley, Athena, Aleis, Jaidyn, and Kael; her father Norman and step-mother Lornas Larsen; three brothers: Bryan, Paul and Pete; Three sisters: Rebecca , Rachael and Ramona.

She was preceded in death by her mother Shirley Larsen, her husband John Weston, her infant son Joshua Allen and her son Gary Caldwell .
According to her wishes her body has been cremated private family services will be held.
