Rowley Powers Way to Conference Award

William Penn Women's Athletics

Oskaloosa–First baseman Brianne Rowley (Sr., Hood River, Ore., Blue Mountain CC) hit the ball a long, long way last week and she was rewarded for her show of strength by being named Midwest Collegiate Conference Softball Player of the Week today.

Rowley picked up the honor for the second time in her career as she guided William Penn (28-11, 11-1 MCC) to a 7-0 record last week, extending its winning streak to 13 games in the process.

Rowley hit .478 (11-of-23) during the week, including producing five home runs and one triple. She tallied 13 RBIs and 13 runs scored as well and had a hit in six of seven games (four multi-hit performances).

The senior had two two-home run games, giving her a team-best 13 for the year, which is one shy of the school single-season mark.

For the year, Rowley is hitting .358 (38-of-106) with squad highs in RBIs (tied at 41) and runs (40).

The award is the seventh for the program this year.
