Robert Lee Van Polen, 84, of Oskaloosa passed away Tuesday, October 3, 2017, at the MHP Hospice Serenity House in Oskaloosa. Robert Lee Van Polen, son of Arthur and Sylvia (Taylor) Van Polen, was born, December 23, 1932.

When Bob was a young man he moved to Oskaloosa. It was in Oskaloosa that he met Alberta Musgrove. The two were married December 1, 1955.

Later the family moved to Muscatine, Iowa where Bob drove truck and worked for multiple rock quarries. Bob later worked for the County of Muscatine where he worked at the local cemetery.

Bob loved to race cars, go bowling and spend time fishing.

Bob’s family includes three daughters: Anita Brady of Oskaloosa, Nadia Crook of Oskaloosa, and Tonya (& Ted) Bellon of Mount Sterling, Iowa; two sons: Jerry (& Sharon) Musgrove of Columbus City, Iowa and Brian (& Maria) Musgrove of Columbus Jct., Iowa; one daughter-in-law, Elaine Musgrove; and many grandchildren.

Besides his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Alberta; a daughter and son-in-law, Sue and Russell Blank; two sons, William and Calvin Musgrove; a son-in-law, Bob Brady; and two granddaughters, Karen and Tonya.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, October 6, 2017, at Langkamp Funeral Chapel.
Burial will be in Forest Cemetery.
Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m., Friday morning at the funeral chapel; the family will greet visitors from 9:30 to the time of service.
Memorials can be made to the Stephen’s Memorial Animal Shelter Oskaloosa.
