Rhonda Grace Caudill, age 58, of Albia, IA, passed away on Monday, April 11, 2022, at the Monroe County Hospital in Albia, surrounded by her loved ones. Rhonda was born on February 12, 1964, at the Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines, IA, to Allen Lee and LaVonne Arlene (Cooper) Ocker.
Rhonda grew up attending school in Albia.
On August 21, 1982, she was united in marriage to Dan Caudill at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Albia, and to this union, 3 daughters were born, Heather, Nicci, and Alisha. Rhonda and Dan shared 39 years of marriage prior to her passing.
Rhonda worked at Pizza Hut before going to work in the dietary department at the Monroe County Hospital. She then went to work in the dietary department at the Monroe Care Center and lastly returned to the dietary department at the new Monroe County Hospital in Albia.
Rhonda was strong in her faith and was an active member of the Albia Baptist Temple. She enjoyed shopping for clothing. Rhonda was a very caring and generous person who truly enjoyed giving to others or helping them in any way that she could. She loved her dogs, Ginger and Sophie. Above all else, Rhonda cherished spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Rhonda is survived by her husband, Dan; 2 children, Heather (& Lee) McDonald and Alisha (& Jon) Bower; her adopted daughter, Sara VanHulzen; her grandchildren: Tyler, Liam, Finn, Jonas, and one on the way; her mother, LaVonne Ocker; a brother, Bill (& Becky) Ocker; and her beloved dogs, Ginger and Sophie. Rhonda is also survived by aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and good friends.
Rhonda was preceded in death by a daughter, Nicci Caudill; her father, Allen Lee Ocker; a brother, Randy Ocker; and her grandparents, Paul & Mary Dowing and Roy and Bertha Cooper.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 14, 2022, at the Tharp Funeral Home in Albia, with Rhonda’s family present from 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. to greet family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, April 15, 2022, at the Albia Baptist Temple in Albia, with Pastor Chris Harris officiating.
Burial will follow services at Oak View Cemetery in Albia.
An open memorial has been established to family.
