OSKALOOSA, IA – Penn Central Mall has announced the return of its much-anticipated holiday tradition, the Penn Central Mall Express train rides. Beginning from the first Tuesday of December until Christmas, the mall will offer free train rides to visitors as a part of its holiday festivities.

The train rides will take place every Tuesday evening from 5 PM to 7 PM, inviting families to enjoy a unique and joyful experience as they tour around the mall premises. The Penn Central Mall Express, originally a 1963 Harley Davidson chassis golf car, was refurbished in 2015 and has since become a highlight of the mall’s holiday celebrations.

With a capacity to comfortably accommodate eight passengers, the train is designed to be a family-friendly attraction for all ages. Despite its ability to hold up to ten passengers, the mall ensures that comfort and safety are not compromised. The train rides are particularly popular among young children and grandparents, fostering a sense of shared holiday spirit.

In a move prioritizing safety, the mall decided not to include Santa Claus in the train ride experience. This decision was made to prevent the possibility of children unexpectedly running towards Santa.

The Penn Central Mall Express provides a nostalgic and entertaining ride, offering families a delightful way to create lasting holiday memories. Visitors are encouraged to take advantage of this unique experience on Tuesday evenings during the festive season.
