Owl Prowl at Russell Wildlife Area
Bring your family and friends out to the Russell Wildlife Area on Friday, January 21 at 6:30 p.m. MCCB Naturalist, Laura DeCook, will start the evening inside the conservation center to give everyone a rare opportunity to see a live screech owl up close! Visitors will also learn about the lives of owls in Iowa, what makes them raptors, and watch a video of barn owls growing up in a nesting box.
Following the indoor program, Laura will lead a night “Owl Prowl” hike to call for owls in the woods. Dress warmly and bring a flashlight if you wish to go on the hike! If you have questions or need directions, contact MCCB at (641)673-9327.
