Osky Girls Kickoff The Season With A Win Over Centerville

Centerville, Iowa – The Oskaloosa Indians Girls Basketball Team started their season on November 26th at Centerville, claiming the season opener 61-58.

After the first quarter, Oskaloosa lead Centerville 14-12. Centerville outscored Oskaloosa in the 2nd quarter to lead 28-25.

The Indians came out of the break, outscoring Centerville 17-12 in the third quarter. Oskaloosa then edged the hosts 19-18 in the fourth quarter for the win.

Junior Amanda Fay lead the team with 13 points and 10 rebounds. Fay also had 3 assists, a steal and a blocked shot in the effort.

Jillian Jennings had 12 points with 4 rebounds and an assist.

Macie Krier, Kaylee Johnson, and Mary Nelson each had 10 points for Oskaloosa.

Mary Nelson had 4 rebounds, while Johnson and Nelson each had 3.

Nelson had 8 assists, while Johnson had 4 steals.

Off the bench, Mekenna Schaffner had 6 points and 9 rebounds for the Indians.
