Osky Baseball Loses In Heartbreaker

Tuesday’s game against Knoxville Panthers Varsity was a heartbreaker for Oskaloosa Indians Varsity, as they lost the lead late in a 9-7 defeat. The game was tied at four with Knoxville Panthers Varsity batting in the top of the fifth when Trenton Kingery doubled on a 1-2 count, scoring two runs.
Despite the loss, Oskaloosa Indians Varsity did collect nine hits in the high-scoring affair. Unfortunately, Knoxville Panthers Varsity had 12 hits on the way to victory.
In the second inning, Knoxville Panthers Varsity got their offense started when Kingery hit a solo homer.
In the top of the fourth inning, Knoxville Panthers Varsity tied things up at four. Evan Prevo singled on the first pitch of the at-bat, scoring one run.
Oskaloosa Indians Varsity notched four runs in the third inning. Oskaloosa Indians Varsity’s big bats in the inning were led by singles by Aiden North and Charlie North and a double by Marcus Fresquez.
Brenden Woolsey toed the rubber for Knoxville Panthers Varsity. The ace lasted three innings, allowing seven hits and four runs while striking out two and walking one.
Alex Christ was on the pitcher’s mound for Oskaloosa Indians Varsity. The righty went three and two-thirds innings, allowing four runs on five hits, striking out eight, and walking zero. Cael Butler and Jackson Shafer entered the game as relief, throwing two and two-thirds innings and two-thirds of an inning respectively.

Knoxville Panthers Varsity racked up 12 hits on the day. Kingery, Hayden Hatch, Prevo, and Niko Lacona each racked up multiple hits for Knoxville Panthers Varsity. Kingery went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Knoxville Panthers Varsity in hits.
