Oskaloosa Public Works Plans Street Closures For Pavement Preservation Work
ATTENTION RESIDENTS
The City of Oskaloosa is proactively utilizing “pavement preservation strategies” to preserve its pavement infrastructure. The City will start pavement preservation activity in the downtown area. Weather permitting, road closures will be on the dates shown below.

MONDAY April 16, 2012 from 5:00 A.M. to 8:00 A.M.
MONDAY May 21, 2012 and TUESDAY May 22, 2012 from 7:30 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.

(Or the next business day/s if delays occur)
Motorists are to take note of this activity and to be prepared for construction work zones and redirected traffic during this time period. As always, caution should be exercised when traveling through all work zones.
Instructions for all residents:
1) Do not drive on the wet material. It will track onto your driveway and/or splatter on your vehicle. Please follow any roadway signs and caution cones carefully.
2) If you leave home and your street has been sprayed, drive very slowly through the material to the untreated or dry side of the street. Drive slowly until the material has worn off your tires. DO NOT drive on wet material and then drive onto your driveway. It Will Track onto your driveway!
3) The street will be closed for a few hours, during which you WILL NOT have driving access to the store fronts.
4) You will have driving access later in the day. We recommend not returning to the area until the sealant has cured, usually about 2-3 hours after it has been applied to the street, and we will keep the areas closed until 5 p.m.
5) Please remove any parked vehicles on or near the street between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 5 p.m on May 21st and May 22nd.
6) Rain days and/or equipment problems may delay the work until subsequent day/s when crews are able to return to work.
7) We recommend not scheduling any contractors, landscapers, or deliveries on these days.
8) If you have lawn sprinklers that make the street wet in any way, please turn them off until this process is completed.
THANK YOU IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR COOPERATION.
