Oskaloosa Indians Claim Victory At Williamsburg

The Oskaloosa Indian swim team traveled to Williamsburg for its last swim meet before the Christmas break. They came away scoring 338 points and put another win on the board for them as they competed against Williamsburg and Vinton-Shellsburg.

In the 200 Medley Relay the A team, (Owen Gordon, Jack Dawson, Carson Breon, and Jaron Miller), were able to swim a 1:50.03 to earn a first-place finish and the B team, (Keygan Roberts, Aaron Scholes, Lucca Claro, and Landon Hunolt), finished in a time of 2:20.55 for the Indians.

In the 200 Free Event Colin Fiechtner finished in a time of 2:08.66 and earned a 3rd place finish for the Indians.

Next up was the 200 Individual Medley and Jarod Miller went to the blocks and swam a 2:18.78 and took home the 3rd place finish.

In the 50 Free Oskaloosa sent 6 swimmers to compete on the night. Jack Dawson brought home a first-place finish for the Indians as he swam a 24.50. Keygan Roberts earned a 6th place finish in a time of 29.11 and was followed closely by Landon Hunolt who had a 29.61. Then there was Joshua Hartl who swam a time of 30.74, Andrew Scholes who finished in 34.24 and Trae Jarvis finished in 35.92.

In the 100 Fly Event, Carson Breon went to the blocks and broke his own school record by swimming a 57.59 and earned a second-place finish for the Indians.

In the 100 Free Event, Colin Fiechtner was the top finisher as he earned a 3rd place spot by finishing in a time of 57.37. Aaron Scholes followed him with a 1:08.06, Joshua Hartl with a 1:10.68, and Trae Jarvis with a time of 1:26.78.

In the long 500 Free Event Oskaloosa sent two swimmers to compete. Jarod Miller came away with the 1st place finish with a time of 5:35.58 and Lucca Claro earned a 5th place finish in a time of 8:31.83.

In the 200 Freestyle Relay, Oskaloosa again sent two teams as the A team (Gordon, Fiechtner, Breon, Dawson) earned another 1st place finish with a time of 1:39.07 and the second team (Scholes, Hunolt, Hartl, Roberts)
earned a 4th place finish by swimming a 2:00.28.

In the last session of the night, the Indians sent Owen Gordon to swim the 100 Backstroke, and he earned the second-place finish with a time of 1:01.41.

In the 100 Breast Stroke Event, Jack Dawson and Andrew Sholes were back on the blocks. Dawson came away with a first-place finish in a time of 1:08.25 and Scholes finished in a time of 1:32.62.

The final race of the night was the 400 Free, and Osky sent two teams to swim. The team of Miller, Gordon, Fiechtner, and Breon earned a first-place finish in a time of 3:47.01 and the other team of Hunolt, Hartl, Claro, and Roberts earned the fourth-place finish in a time of 4:47.71

The next meet for the Indians swimmers will be at the Des Moines Hoover Invitational on Saturday, January 5th. Come on up and watch these boys compete as they are continuing to get faster every week.
