Oskaloosa gives go ahead to regional airport agreement
At this evening’s city council meeting, the city council voted unanimously to authorize the city manager to initiate a 28E agreement with the city of Pella and Mahaska County. The agreement will be for the purpose of building a jointly owned regional airport. City Manager Michael Schrock reported that if the council was to vote for the agreement, Shrock, with the assistance of legal help, would draft an agreement. The final agreement must be approved by all parties involved in the airport at a different date. In other news, the city council:
- Approved the appointment of Julie Hansen to the historical preservation commission, Russell Sparks to the Board of Adjustment and Kraig Van Hulzen to the Airport Commission
- Approved a site plan for a temporary structure at William Penn University
- Approved a resolution establishing the 2011 fees at Edmundson Golf Course
- Went into closed session under Iowa Code Section 20.17(3) to discuss collective bargaining strategy
- Went into closed session under Iowa Code Section 21.5.1.j to discuss the purchase of real estate
- Went into closed session under Iowa Code Section 21.5.1.i for city attorney candidate interviews
The city council will meet again on January 3rd, 2011 at 6:30 PM in the city council chambers
