Oskaloosa 7th Grade Splits With Pella Christian

Oskaloosa split a 2 game set with Pella Christian last night in 7th grade boys basketball action. In the A game the Indians looked like they might be the first game of a two game sweep. Foul trouble, a stagnant offense, and not getting stops on defense allowed P.C. to pull away to a 45-22 victory. The Indians kept it close until halftime only trailing 16-12 but the Eagles pulled away in the 3rd quarter going on a 16-2 run and extending the lead in the fourth quarter to seal the victory.

Leaders for the Indians were Tommy North with 9 points, 3 assists and 2 rebounds. Cael Ashman had 6 points and 2 rebounds. Tyler Edgar added 5 points and 3 rebounds. Brady Shinn chipped in 2 points. Jeremiah Reeves pulled down 3 rebounds and Courtland Metier and Kaden Toubekis added 2 and 1 rebound respectively.

In the B game the Indians trailed 12-14 at halftime. Oskaloosa managed to find some offense to jump ahead midway through the 4th quarter and win 26-21 giving the Indians their first victory of the Season. Leaders for the Indians were Brady Shinn with 7 points and 2 rebounds, Kale Van Wyk with 6 points and 1 assist, Jeremiah Reeves with 5 poiints, 4 rebounds and 2 assists. Will Steen Hayden Johnson, Courtland Metier, and Dawson Boertje added 2 points apieice. Courtland Meitier added 2 assists. The Indians will play another 2 games Thursday night on the road at PCM at 4:30 p.m.
