Oskaloosa 7th Grade Football Triumphs Over Ottumwa in Season Opener

The Oskaloosa 7th grade football team kicked off their season with a commanding 28-12 victory over the Ottumwa Bulldogs on Thursday night. The Indians’ offense was firing on all cylinders, scoring on every possession except their final drive, while the defense made crucial adjustments in the second half to shut down Ottumwa’s attack.

Oskaloosa’s offense was led by Andrew Pilcher, Beau Pierson, and Christian Davis, each finding the end zone. Davis was the standout performer with two touchdowns, while Pierson and Pilcher each added a score. Kinnick Walraven contributed with a successful two-point conversion, and Pierson connected with Brody Herny on another two-point pass play.

Defensively, Oskaloosa showed resilience, giving up two touchdowns in the first half but clamping down after halftime, allowing no points in the second half. The adjustments made at the break were key to sealing the win.

In the shortened “B” game, Oskaloosa fought hard but fell just short, losing 0-6. Despite the loss, Nolan Nance made a big impact by forcing a fumble late in the second quarter, giving the Indians a chance to get back in the game.

The Oskaloosa 7th graders will look to build on their strong start when they take on PCM next Tuesday.
