One person died in a house fire in Oskaloosa early Thursday morning. The call came in around 3:45 of a fire at 401 North A Street.

After the fire was contained CRI’s Jason Madison spoke with Oskaloosa Fire Chief Mark Neff about the incident.

Fire Chief Mark Neff says the house was fully engulfed when the crews got there. He says one resident escaped the blaze, but another wasn’t able to get out. He has not identified the person who died and will only say it was an adult. The fire marshal is investigating. No cause is available. The New Sharon Fire Department helped Oskaloosa firefighters with the blaze. CRI will pass along more information as it becomes available. Check out our website and facebook page for updates.
