OHS Girls Soccer Starts Season Against Tough Johnston Team

The Oskaloosa Girls’ soccer team started out their 2017 campaign against a very tough 3A Johnston team and unfortunately came out on the wrong side of a lop-sided game falling 8-0.

“We knew it was going to be a tough game as they are one of the top teams in 3A, but unfortunately we were outmatched most of the game.” Kinsey Cook who stepped into a position she doesn’t normally play did a great job in goal with 12 saves.

As a team, we know that we didn’t play anywhere close to our potential or ability, but that game is behind us and this is where we find what we are made of by either giving up and closing up shop or learning from this game and using it as motivation as we move forward in the season.

We do want to thank the fans that braved the rainy, cold, and windy night to come cheer us on and look forward to seeing more fans in the stands as our season continues.

Depending on field conditions, we will be at it again tonight against Ottumwa at their place. The game time is 5:30 for JV with Varsity to follow.
