Ogden Defense Shutout Warhawks
OGDEN – North Mahaska made the long trip to Ogden Friday and ran into a stiff defense. The host Bulldogs limited North Mahaska to 65 total yards in a 49-0 win.
North Mahaska was playing without running back Paul DeJong, who suffered an injury a week ago. Sophomore Jacob Beyer and junior Austin McMahan took up the rushing chores. Beyer rushed 11 times for 19 yards and McMahan had 12 yards on four carries. Lucas Nunnikhoven picked up 11 yards on eight carries and was 3-for-8 passing for 18 yards.
North Mahaska turned the ball over four times. On defense, Wyatt Van Weelden collected 13 tackles, Ashton Meland had nine and Nunnikhoven seven Carter Lake recovered a fumble for the Warhawks.
Ogden (3-1) passed the ball for 214 yards on 15 receptions and rushed for 123 yards on 26 carries.
North Mahaska (1-3) hosts Belle Plaine Friday.
