NJCAA Rankings Include Football, Men’s and Women’s Basketball

Charlotte, NC – The NJCAA National Office released the tenth week of rankings for DI and DIII football as well as all three divisions of men’s and women’s basketball. This marks the first week of regular season rankings for basketball.

Below is a summary of the rankings from Monday’s announcement:

DI Football | Iowa Western took over the latest NJCAA DI Football poll with an 8-0 mark on the season. In second is Snow (UT), followed by New Mexico Military, Northwest Mississippi, and Independence (KS). Mississippi Gulf Coast, Garden City (KS), and Kilgore (TX) earned the last three spots of the top-15.

DIII Football | The NJCAA DIII Football poll saw no changes to the top-five. Nassau (NY) remained on top, and Itasca (MN) held on to No. 2. North Dakota SCS claimed the No. 4 spot at 9-1 and Minnesota State took the No. 5 spot with a 6-4 record on the season.

DI Women’s Basketball | The NJCAA DI Women’s Basketball poll voted Northwest Florida State as the top team once again. Places two through five each improve a place, while Tyler (TX) dropped a spot to No. 10. Three Rivers (MO) opened the season 4-0, improving to No. 6.

DI Men’s Basketball | Week 1 of the NJCAA DI Men’s Basketball poll saw 2-0 Salt Lake (UT) atop the rankings as four points separate the top-three teams this time. Butler (KS) debuted at No. 9 after a pivotal win against Indian Hills. Kilgore (TX) and Dodge City (KS) rounded out the top-10.

DII Women’s Basketball | After defeating a top-10 opponent, Bryant and Stratton (OH) claimed a spot in the top-20 of the NJCAA DII Women’s Basketball poll. The top-five kept Lake Land (IL) at the helm, and Johnson County (KS) in the No. 2 spot. North Central Missouri picked up No. 17 and Lackawanna (MS) took home the No. 18 honor.

DII Men’s Basketball | Kirkwood (IA) captured the No. 1 place in the NJCAA DII Men’s Basketball poll, with Mott (MI) and South Suburban (IL) right behind. Scottsdale (AZ), Hocking (OH), and Iowa Western earned the final three spots of the top-20.

DIII Women’s Basketball | In the NJCAA DIII Women’s Basketball poll, the top-five held strong with Northland (MN) on top. Hostos (NY) swapped places with No. 7 UConn Avery Point after defeating the Pointers on opening night. Anne Arundel (MD) and Herkimer (NY) took No. 12 and No. 13, respectively.

DIII Men’s Basketball | Dallas-Richland (TX) earned the No. 1 spot in the NJCAA DIII Men’s Basketball poll, with Herkimer (NY) and Dallas-Eastfield (TX) close behind. Rock Valley (IL) and Genesee (NY) took spots in the top-15, while Bunker Hill (MA) and St. Cloud Tech (MN) took home receiving votes.

The next NJCAA Rankings will be released on Monday, November 15, with DI and DIII football, as well as all three divisions of men’s and women’s basketball.
