NASCAR Nationwide Action Returns To The Iowa Speedway
Newton, Iowa – The NASCAR Nationwide Series makes its return to the Iowa Speedway on Saturday August 4th.
If your not familiar with the Iowa Speedway, it’s a 7/8 mile short track that drives like a super speedway. It was also the first track built with safer barriers in place at the time of construction.
At a NASCAR race weekend, fans at the Iowa Speedway can expect to be “treated to full day of good, family fun in their backyard.” There are concerts, fireworks and vendors, as well.
For those wanting to get even closer to the action, a fan walk is in place to help get you where you can smell the rubber while looking for your favorite driver.
In the May race, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. took home his third win in a row at Iowa Speedway in front of 34,000 fans. Now with the race for the championship headed for the final stretch, things will only be heating up between Elliott Sadler, rookie Austin Dillion and three peat winner Ricky Stenhouse Jr. Penske Driver Sam Hornish Jr. is lurking in 4th and could capitalize if trouble plagues one of the front runners.
Tickets are still available for the Saturday running of the U.S. Cellular 250 at the Iowa Speedway. Driver introductions begin at 6:30 pm, with the race set to start at 7:00 pm.
