Nancy Jo Swim, 57, of Eddyville, died Sunday, November 19, 2017, at her home near Eddyville. She was born Saturday, May 21, 1960, in Oskaloosa, the daughter of Carl and Wilda Van Polen Collister.

Nancy graduated from Oskaloosa High School with the Class of 1978.

Early on she worked at Dean’s Cigar Store, as a manager at McDonald’s and Pizza Hut, Oskaloosa Credit Union, Knoxville Community Hospital and lastly as the Director of Operations at Ottumwa Regional Health Center.

On May 15, 1987, Nancy was united in marriage to (Arnold) Dean Swim in Oskaloosa.

Nancy loved spending time with her grandchildren, riding motorcycles, reading and shopping for clothes. She was very passionate about raising awareness for autism.

She is survived by her husband, Dean Swim of Eddyville; three sons: Chad Collister of Oskaloosa, Justin Shrader of Rose Hill and Christopher Shrader of Oskaloosa; her mom, Wilda Collister of Oskaloosa; two stepdaughters: Jerry Jean (& James) Cunningham of Leon, Iowa and Jessica (& Anton) Kempker of Ft. Madison; four grandsons; two step grandchildren; and a brother, Mark (& Pam) Collister of Lacey.

She was preceded in death by her father; and a sister, Louise Englehoven.

As was her wish, Nancy’s body has been cremated.
No visitation is planned at this time.
A memorial service will be held at 10 A.M. on Wednesday, November 22, 2017, at Calvary Bible Church in Oskaloosa with Reverend Dr. Doug Smiley officiating.
Burial of the cremated remains will be in the Bluff Creek Cemetery at a later date.
Memorials may be made to her family.
