Nancy Engeman, 80, of Oskaloosa, died Sunday, July 22, 2018, at the MHP Hospice Serenity House in Oskaloosa. She was born September 19, 1937, in Sandwich, Illinois, the daughter of Stephen and Elna Walker Brimicombe.

Throughout her life Nancy bore the great sorrow of losing both children in separate accidents. She also lovingly cared for two husbands at the end of their lives. Living with the sorrow of such loss, she found joy in the Lord and spread that joy among her church family and friends. She laughed easily and often. Nancy was loved and will be missed by many friends. She was a member of Fellowship Bible Church and considered the congregation her family.

Nancy spent her latest years making beautiful quilts, playing dominos and enjoying road trips to shop. Nancy knew that her heart was growing weaker and expressed her desire to go home with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

“My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and portion forever” Psalm 73:26

Her family includes her grandson, Jeremy Lange of Colorado; three great grandchildren: Brianna, Madilyn, and Aspyn Lange.

In addition to her husbands, Rodney and Walter, Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Gary Newton; and a daughter, Diane Lange; two brothers, Stanley and Ronald Brimicombe; and two sisters, Mary Pederson and Rebecca Stout.
