Oskaloosa–Ashley Miller (Jr., Kalona, Iowa, Exercise Science) put herself in position to make play after play on the defensive end and her near-flawless execution was rewarded by being named Heart of America Athletic Conference Volleyball Defender of the Week Monday.

Miller was awarded for the fifth time in her career (third this year) after guiding the Statesmen to a 4-1 record for the week.

The junior finished the week with 109 digs for an average of 6.81 digs per set. Her week was highlighted by a 40-dig effort against Indiana Northwest Saturday. She also served up seven aces in addition to posting two kills and 13 assists.

Miller is currently topping the entire NAIA with 637 digs and is second with 6.43 digs per set. She also has eight kills, 72 assists, and 25 aces to her credit.

The accolade is the third of the year for WPU.
