Oskaloosa–Ashley Miller (Jr., Kalona, Iowa, Exercise Science) backed up a tremendous start to her season with another strong week and was rewarded by being named the Heart of America Athletic Conference Volleyball Defender of the Week Monday.

Miller, now a three-time weekly recipient, claimed this year’s inaugural accolade as she helped the Statesmen to a 2-1 week. The junior posted 61 digs (6.10 per set), including a high of 28 against Cardinal Stritch Friday. She also tallied three aces and managed a .987 reception percentage (just one error in 78 attempts).

For the year, Miller has recorded 166 digs (6.38 per set) in addition to two kills, 26 assists, and six aces.

The award is the first for WPU this year.
