Mahaska Salvation Army ends successful bell-ringing season

Salvation Army of Mahaska County

The Salvation Army just concluded their 2010 bell ringing season and want to thank everyone who helped exceed our goal. Your generous contributions in the kettles this year exceeded 30,350.06 dollars. Our goal was 26,000.00. You exceeded the goal by 14.33% so we will be able to help more families and individuals this year.

We want to thank each one of you who put something in the kettle or mailed in a check. We also want to thank the over 240 people who rang the bells from churches, Oskaloosa High School Student Council, civic groups, and individuals and families.

Our youngest ringer was only three years old and a joy. The eldest ringer was 93 years old and was the first bell-ringer of the season and also rang on the last day we rang this year.

The bell-ringers want to thank those who brought them hot chocolate on the very cold days. They appreciated being involved in “Doing the Most Good” in the Mahaska county area. Thank you from the Salvation Army Bell-ringing Committee.
