Mahaska County Supervisors For October 3, 2011
The first meeting in October had a short agenda for the Mahaska County Supervisors
Oskaloosa, Iowa – The Mahaska County Supervisors held their regularly scheduled meeting starting at 9:00 am in the 3rd floor conference room of the Mahaska County Courthouse.
Beyond the approval of the minutes from September 18th and the corrected minutes from September 16th, the board approved the payment of September bills.
The next item on the agenda was the payroll change of Brandon Slobe from a Part-time jailer to a Full-time position.
The board board went over the quarterly auditor report.
The largest item on the agenda for the day was the opening of bids regarding rent of the county farm land east of Oskaloosa. The land surrounds what is commonly referred to as “The County Farm.” Marvin and Scott Van Veldhuizen won the bid to farm the land with a bid of $308.00 per acre the first year, $303.00 per acre the following year, and finally $298.00 per acre for the third and final year. Over the 3 year period this would help to provide $228258.90 in revenue to the county for its’ rental.
The item not reviewed that was on the agenda was the Phase 1 (Purpose and Needs) Highway 63 Transportation Study, as it was not ready for review by the Supervisors at the time of the meeting.
