Statesmen of the Week: Rhyan Sewell and Amelia Meador

Oskaloosa–Football player Rhyan Sewell (Fr., Little Elm, Texas) and women’s golfer Amelia Meador (Sr., Oskaloosa, Iowa, Kinesiology) have been named the Statesmen of the Week for the week of September 7-13.

Sewell posted an impressive stat line against Benedictine last Saturday. The freshman not only led the defense with 10 tackles (3.5 for loss), but also managed 2.5 sacks. He was a factor in the turnover battle as well, forcing two fumbles, while also recovering one.

Meador guided the Statesmen at the Siouxland Invitational last Tuesday and Wednesday. The senior opened with an 84, and then improved five strokes to a 79 on Wednesday. Her performance included four birdies.
